I'm not sure I've really got the hang of this blogging lark. I still keep trying to write articles - which is not the point.
So... in future blogs will contain pointers to the articles I feel compelled to write. Which might take a while to form, but I don't think that's a problem.
I've been checking out the blog of an old, respected, friend (
Jonathan Sanderson ) if you want to see what I think a blog should be like.

...bearing in mind that my blog's readership asymptotically approaches 'some', from below, I'm not sure it's a good example of anything much. Tradition has it that blogs should have a clear focus and voice, whereas mine seems happy to meander around and touch on any old shit that's going through my head. Still, I enjoy writing it, so that's the main thing, right? Right?
Welcome to the blogosphere, anyway.

I'm coming to the feeling that that is EXACTLY what a blog should be about. Otherwise it stalls owing to time pressures.
I've opted for a two tier process. littleblogs for meandering thoughts and bigblogs for those deep analytical postings.
Maybe there's a more elegant solution, but I'm not sure. In one sense I think this is what Apple are trying to do with the wiki site in Leopard (which this is) The wiki side of the site is the bigblog articles and the blog is the littleblogs. More thoughts in a blog to come.
